Mission 

The laboratory has been closely following the footsteps of international frontier disciplines, and focused on the great demand of national, regional and industrial economic development in the areas of smart manufacturing, green manufacturing and high-end manufacturing. It aims to develop basic theories, core technology and demonstration of engineering application to solve urgent operation optimization and system integration problems arising from the production and management process in the process industry, especially the energy chemical industry.

In the critical period of the digital transformation and upgrading of China’s manufacturing industry and the achievement of the national strategic goal of “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”, we focus on strategic needs from national sustainable development of energy chemical process, aim at the frontiers of international research, and improve basic research abilities and scientific research innovation levels, to cultivate outstanding talents in smart manufacturing of energy chemical process and create a world-class new highland for independent innovation.

Focus on artificial intelligence empowering energy chemical process, carry out fundamental and application-based research on smart manufacturing from three dimensions: demand-driven agile supply chain, whole production process optimization, and green production and safe environment management, to acquire a series of key technologies, industrial software and smart systems of smart manufacturing in energy chemical process with advanced international standards.

Through the application of procedure-based industrial process in such typical industries as petrochemical, coal-based chemical, cement, and steel, to promote the deep integration of the digital economy industry represented by artificial intelligence and the process manufacturing industry, build a new pattern of digital transformation and high-quality development of the process manufacturing industry, and serve the interest of national, industrial, and social economic development.
