The 2nd Intelligent Healthcare and Rehabilitation Conference and the 5th Brain-Computer Interface Forum were held from December 19th to 20th at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province. The conference was hosted by the School of Information Science and Engineering of East China University of Science and Technology, the School of Artificial Intelligence of Xi'an Jiaotong University, the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education for Intelligent Medical Engineering, and the Shanghai Center for Brain Science and Brain-like Research. A total of more than 350 participants from more than 40 universities and nearly 20 enterprises, including the Brain Intelligence Innovation Center of Excellence of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the People's Liberation Army University of Science and Technology for National Defense, Tianjin University, South China University of Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology, Southeast University, Beijing Taihe Li Kang Medical Technology Development Co. Ltd. and nearly 20 enterprises.

At the opening ceremony, Wan Suiren, vice president of the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering, and Du Wenli, dean of the School of Information Technology of East China University of Science and Technology, delivered speeches respectively. Mr. Wan expressed his congratulations on the convening of the conference and pointed out that the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering has made outstanding contributions to the prosperity of China's biomedical engineering career and the development of China's biomedical engineering disciplines. He hoped that the participating experts would have in-depth discussion, deliberation and exchange on various fields of biomedical engineering discipline through this conference, so as to play an active leading role in advancing the development of biomedical engineering discipline research, education and talent cultivation in China, and provide strong support and feasible programs for promoting the development of the national health care industry. Du Wenli introduced the relevant situation of the School of Information Science and Engineering of East China University of Science and Technology. She pointed out that the cross research of artificial intelligence with medicine and brain science is a feature of the artificial intelligence direction of the School of Information Science, and hoped that through this conference, the exchange of brain-computer interface technology and rehabilitation technology research in China would be further promoted. The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Jin Jing, director of the Department of Automation, School of Information, East China University of Science and Technology, and chairman of the conference.

The conference invited Academician Pu Muming of the Chinese Academy of Engineering to attend the conference and give a conference report, introducing the role of brain-computer interface technology in the neuromodulation of the brain. At the same time, the conference also invited more than 50 experts from Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Fudan University, the People's Liberation Army University of National Defense Science and Technology, Zhejiang University, South China University of Technology, Tianjin University, the Naval Medical University and other experts around the theme of intelligent medical care and rehabilitation, using a combination of online and offline academic reports. There are ten parallel forums in this conference, and the forum reports discussed in depth the development of combining AI technology with medical rehabilitation from various aspects, and encouraged and promoted the exchange and cooperation in multi-scientific and multi-specialty fields. This conference aims to promote the communication in the direction of domestic intelligent medical treatment and rehabilitation, promote the application of artificial intelligence technology in the field of medical treatment and rehabilitation, focus on the frontier and hotspot of the application of modern artificial intelligence technology, carry out academic discussions and exchanges, encourage and promote exchanges and cooperation in multi-science and multi-disciplinary professional fields, and make positive contributions to the creation of a better future for human society.
