From May 19th to 20th, ECUST Huixian Forum on “Smart Connection, Smart Computing and Smart Control” was held at Shanghai Grand Skylight Garden Hotel. The forum was hosted by ECUST and co-organized by the School of Information Science and Engineering at ECUST, the Key Laboratory of Advanced Control and Optimization for Chemical Processes Ministry of Education, and the Youth Working Committee of the Chinese Association of Automation. The forum invited many international journal editors, overseas young scholars, and postdoctoral fellows. More than 120 experts from ECUST attended the forum, including Shi Hongbo, the secretary of the party committee of the School of Information Science and Engineering at ECUST, Du Wenli, the dean of the School of Information Science and Engineering at ECUST, Zhong Weimin and Wang Zhe, the deputy deans of the School of Information at ECUST .
At the international journal editors’ sub-forum, Prof. Leopoldo Garcia Franquelo (from University of Seville), the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, and Prof. Licheng Fu (from National Taiwan University), the Editor-in-Chief of Asian Journal of Control, Professor Shunfeng Su (from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology), the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, and Prof. Zhou Zhihua (from Nanjing University), the Associate Editor of Science in China: Information Science, delivered wonderful presentations such as “Hints for successful research publication: An industrial electronics perspective”, “How to be a responsible author for potential submission in Asian Journal of Control”, and “Decomposed fuzzy systems”.
At the postdoctoral sub-forum, many experts and scholars from well-known domestic universities such as Zhejiang University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Central South University as well as postdoctoral fellows from the School of Information Science and Technology delivered their academic presentations on international frontier discipline such as Energy Internet, Distributed State Estimation, Fault Detection, and Multi-agent Systems.
At the overseas scholars sub-forum, young scholars from well-known foreign universities such as Washington University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Technical University of Munich, University of Edinburgh, University of Toyama, Japan carried out in-depth discussions on frontier topics such as Smart Grid, Image Processing, Biological Gene Control Network and Multi-agent Systems.
