On August 22nd-24th, the China Process System Engineering Annual Conference (PSE 2018) was held in Xining, Qinghai, and hosted by the Process Systems Engineering Committee of the Systems Engineering Society of China and co-organized by the Sinopec Information Management Department, East China University of Science and Technology and Qinghai University. The theme of the conference is “PSE Empowers Transformation and Development of Process Industry”. The academicians Wang Jiming of Sinopec and Qian Feng as the vice president of ECUST jointly served as the chairman of the conference. Professor Li Lirong, the executive vice president of Qinghai University, Professor Li Defang, the Director of the Information Management Department of Sinopec, and more than 200 experts, scholars, technicians, managers and students from home and abroad attended the conference. Li Defang presided over the opening ceremony. Wang Jiming and Li Lirong delivered keynote speeches, and Qian Feng made a summary presentation.
Academician Qian Feng, Professor Li Defang, Professor Moon from Yonsei University, Professor Wu Jiaming from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Professor Zhao Jinsong from Tsinghua University, Researcher Yu Zhufeng from Chinese Energy Technology and Economics Research Institute, Researcher Mou Shanjun as the vice president of Sinopec Qingdao Safety Engineering Research Institute, Associate Professor Shi Lei from Tsinghua University, Associate Professor Jiang Chaohui from Central South University delivered keynote speeches, respectively. Representatives from Huawei, H3C and Honeywell also attended the conference and delivered presentations.
The conference this year received a total of 219 academic papers. After reviewed by the academic committee, 156 papers were accepted into the conference proceedings and 110 papers were recommended to the Journals. All accepted papers were divided into eight groups and the Outstanding Paper Awards were granted after the discussions on all accepted papers by different groups.
The conference has made extensive discussions and in-depth exchanges on many hot topics, frontier discipline and technologies in the field of PSE. It further clarified the importance of process system integration technology, smart manufacturing and big data theoretical research, as well as design development and industrial application. The conference has great significance to the crossover integration between PSE and other related disciplines and the speed-up of the transformation of the latest scientific and technological achievements.
