题目: Current and Future Trends in Neuromusicology
摘要Abstract:
Neuromusicology is a branch of cognitive neuroscience focussing on neural mechanisms involved in music-related activities such as listening, performing, composing, and improvising. It focuses on both cognitive and emotional functions of the musical brain, such as locating regions involved in musical feature processing, or detecting neural correlates of music-induced emotions. Furthermore, it aims to pinpoint long-term effects of musical activities, such as listening and playing, on neural structure and function. In this talk I will discuss some recent trends of neuromusicology. These include expanding emphasis on naturalistic experimental setups, increasing interest in functional integration, strengthening focus on inter-subject variability, as well as growing attention on neural decoding and brain simulation. Within this framework, I will also present some of the work carried out in our lab that reflects these trends.
