报告摘要：This presentation discusses the profound technological changes that have taken place during the last 2 decades, the main characteristics being erosion and
convergence. It is pointed out that the advances are at the edge of traditional disciplines and the connections between different disciplines are becoming the core of the
new technologies, in a not multi, not inter but a transdisciplinary manner. It is argued that convergence fuels convergence and results in emergence. Four distinct phases
of industrial revolution, culminating in Industrie 4.0 are discussed. The emerging paradigms of big data and cyber physical systems, supported by new disruptive advances
both on software and hardware side, as well as the cross-fertilization of concepts and the amalgamation of information, communication and control technology driven
approaches are pointed out to. Finally, the changes observed in the industry are discussed, together with the paradigm change from industrial electronics to industrial
informatics and finally to cyber physical systems.
报告人简介：Okyay Kaynak 教授毕业于英国伯明翰大学电子电气工程专业，且分别在1969年和1972年获得一等荣誉学士学位和博士学位，现任联合国教科文组织机电一体化学科主席，同时担任
土耳其博阿济吉大学电气电子工程系教授。Kaynak教授目前的研究方向在智能控制和机电一体化等领域，出版专著三部，发表论文400多篇。Kaynak教授是IEEE 会士，现任
IEEE/ASME Trans. Mechatronics期刊主编，曾任IEEE 工业电子学会主席，前IEEE Trans. Industrial Electronics和IEEE Trans. Industrial Informatics共同主编。
Okyay Kaynak received the B.Sc. degree with first class honors and Ph.D. degrees in electronic and electrical engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK, in 1969
and 1972 respectively. From 1972 to 1979, he held various positions within the industry. In 1979, he joined the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering,
Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey, where he is presently a Full Professor holding the UNESCO Chair on Mechatronics. He has hold long-term (near to or more than a year)
Visiting Professor/Scholar positions at various institutions in Japan, Germany, U.S., Singapore. His current research interests are in the fields of
intelligent control and mechatronics. He has authored three books, edited five and authored or co-authored more than 400 papers that have appeared in various journals
and conference proceedings.
Dr.Kaynak is a fellow of IEEE. Currently he is the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics. Additionally, he is on the Editorial or Advisory Boards of
a number of scholarly journals.
