Prof. Cao Zhixing obtained B.Eng. from Zhejiang University in 2012, and Ph.D. from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2016. He used to be a postdoctoral fellow working at Harvard University and the University of Edinburgh. His research interest includes machine learning and intelligent modeling of complex biochemical reactions. He has authored 32 peer-reviewed papers, of which 2 papers published in Nature Communications and 1 paper in PNAS are all either first-authored or corresponding authored by him in recent 3 years. He obtained 2021 World Artificial Intelligence Conference Youth Outstanding Paper Nomination Award, 2022 Shanghai Association of Artificial Intelligence Youth Best Paper Award. His research achievement was also reported in 2021 Annual Report of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). He was awarded NSFC General Grant and the National Key Research and Development Program of China, and also serves as a member of both Technical Committee of Process Control and of Intelligent Health and Bioinformatics, Chinese Association of Automation, and an Editorial Board member of the journals The Innovation (IF>20) and IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica (IF=6.171). Notably, he was offered tenure-track positions at the University of British Columbia and the University of Waterloo, respectively. In 2019, he was supported by the 1000 Plan for Young Talents in China, and was promoted to be a full professor at East China University of Science and Technology at 29 years old. In 2021, he was awarded MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 Asia Pacific, which was widely covered by mainstream media such as Xuexi Qiangguo, Xinmin Evening News, Wenhui Bao, ScienceNet.
